About NTNUI Volleyball

NTNUI Volleyball is one of the largest groups within NTNUI and consists of over 250 members. The club is run for and by students and all work within the club is done on voluntary basis. NTNUI Volleyball consist of 19 teams from the Elite level to the third division and you are welcome whether you have been playing for years, or are completely new to the sport. We have also a team for those who does not want to play series, but just practice once a week.

Even though NTNUI Volleyball is such a large group, the interest for playing volleyball tends to be even greater among our students, so we arrange tryouts at the beginning of every semester (August and January). The rest of the year our teams are full and it is not possible to join us in any other way than trying out for our teams when we arrange tryouts – in August and January.

In addition to our teams we also offer “mosjon” every Wednesday 2130-2300 at Idrettsbygget Gløshaugen. This is an open offen for all students with a valid SIT-membership (traning membership/card within Studentsamskipnaden I Trondheim).

Our teams

WOMEN’S TEAMS

D1:

Our D1 team plays at level two in Norway, and plays against teams from all over the country. The team was relegated from the top league this spring, and aims for a fast return to the top level. They practise four times a week and the season consists of 16 league matches.

D2:

We have three teams in the second division. Each team has three practices a week. The season consists of 16 league matches and three ranking tournaments. All matches and tournaments are played in the Trøndelag-region. There are four tryout-dates for D2. Normally, the level is a bit higher during the first tryouts, as D2A gets to choose players first. So, if the level frightens you, there is no reason that you should not return for the next tryouts. If you show up at multiple tryouts, this will increase your chances of being chosen to a team.

D3:

We also have five teams in the third division. Each team has two practices a week. The season consists of 10-16 league matches and three ranking tournaments. All matches and tournaments are played in the Trøndelag-region.

D-Bredde:

Our bredde-teams do not play any matches, but practise once a week. There are no tryouts for these teams. However, a signup sheet will be posted on our pages monday the 20th of August at 12pm on our Facebook page and web page where we go by the first come, first served principle. Questions about the Bredde-team can be directed to volleyball-pr@ntnui.no.
